Welcome! This program has been designed to provide the most intuitive and easy to use interface for composing multi-track songs called MODs. This means MacMod Pro is a music “tracker” that can be used for composing and playing high quality songs for games, demos, presentations, or just personal entertainment. The following information is a quick guide through the basics of the MacMod Pro interface as well as information on some useful short-cuts. I hope you enjoy MacMod Pro.
This is a new help system that contains many powerful features. To learn more about these features, see the Using this help system section.
Volume:
The master volume control is located on the toolbar immediately after the fast-forward button. It has a picture of a speaker. To use this control, hold the mouse button as you would when using a menu.
There are also volume controls for each track of a song. To use these controls, you must have a song loaded. Then, in the Editor window, switch to Player view. The volume controls are at the bottom of the window in a scrolling box.
Speed:
If you wish to change the speed of a song currently playing, use the speed control, located to the right of the master volume control on the toolbar. Use it the same as the master volume control.
First MOD?
If you don't have much experience in creating MODs or need a little extra help, you should read the Creating a MOD topic.
Short-Cuts:
• While in the Standard or Staff view of the Editor window, click where the current pattern or measure is displayed to goto another pattern or measure.
• Read the Keys section of the help system to learn keyboard short-cuts.
• Use the new Auto-Save feature to have MacMod Pro save your songs at a regular time intervals.
Notes:
MacMod can open multiple songs into memory at a time. This allows you to play one song while you edit another. To avoid confusion, the mod currently being played is displayed in the Player view of the Editor window.
